christianity is just full of too many people who try to impress each other by reading books with big words in them.

I asked a question on how to explain "who created God" to my five year old daughter a while back and got answers explaining the nature of numbers, someone who insited on knowing why I believe in God, and an answer of "hand her the Summa Theologica and walk away"

So, I share your frustration....

Oh, wow. That must have been really frustrating!

Out of curiosity, what did you end up telling your daughter? I remember as a young child feeling very irritated that I could never get an answer to that question I understood! (That and the Trinity...it wasn't until I went to a Christian university that I finally got an explanation of the Trinity that made sense.)

I am truly baffled and fascinated by these people who insist they have had direct personal interactions with the devil/demons. What do they mean? I've met people who believe that God has put ideas or words into their heads, but I've never heard/read anything like this before. Are these people hallucinating? Do they take feelings of spiritual doubt or unhappiness and ascribe them to demons? Do they think they can SEE the devil? I... totally don't understand!
